Privacy Policy
This describes what Dubai Directory actually stores today, not what a template says a website usually stores. In this vertical, being identified can cost a visitor a great deal more than an inbox full of spam, and a policy that overstates what is kept is as dishonest as one that understates it.
Browsing takes no account and leaves no profile of you
Reading this site requires no account, no email address and no sign-in. We do not build a profile of what you looked at, we do not sell anything to advertisers about you, and there is no advertising network embedded in these pages. Two small pieces of state are kept in your own browser: whether you confirmed you are over 18, and whether you prefer the grid or the list. Both stay on your device.
What we keep when you write to us
A message sent through the contact page is stored with what you typed into it — your message, the topic you chose, and the email address if you gave one. The address is optional and exists so we can reply; leave it out and the report is still read. Nothing is passed to anyone else, and a message is deleted once it has been dealt with, or on request.
What an advertiser publishes is published
Everything on a profile — the photographs, the text, the contact channels — is put there by the person the profile belongs to, for the purpose of being seen. Anyone listed here can have her listing taken down at any time, for any reason and without explanation, and it is removed rather than hidden.
Cookies
Two, both first-party and neither used for tracking: the age confirmation and the layout preference. An admin session cookie exists on the operator's side of the site and never touches a visitor's browser. No third-party cookies are set by these pages.
Removal
Ask, and it goes. Write from the contact page — a listing, a stored message, or a photograph that should never have been published. Photographs belonging to someone else and anything involving a minor are removed on sight, ahead of everything else in the queue.
This policy is a draft
It describes the site as it works right now and has not been through the legal review the project requires before launch. It will change; the version in force is the one on this page.
