Where to go on Holiday from Dubai

Where to do on holiday to from Dubai

I have to admit I’m a little bit obsessed with SkyScanner and will regularly check to see what deals are available especially as not living in Europe means having a whole new set of destinations within easy reach opened up. Unfortunately there are no £15 Ryanair flights to these destination but there are several places you can holiday to from Dubai for around £200 and within a four hour flight time.

So if you live in Dubai or just want to plan a holiday with a stopover in Dubai then here are some incredible destinations around four hours away that won’t break the bank in flight prices.

Holidays from Dubai

India

There are so many destination that you can reach in India from Dubai for around £200. My top picks would probably be Mumbai or New Delhi two places I’d love to visit to experience this fascinating country. The flight is only three hours so you could easily visit over a long weekend if you’re pushed for annual leave. I’d also love to visit Goa but they don’t seem to have any direct flights here so the journey will take you around six hours – you might want to save that one for when you have a little more time on your hands.

Oman

This country borders both the north and south of the UAE and is possible to cross into using the land borders. Both borders are around 1 hour and 30 minutes from Dubai. Heading north you can then get to Musandam within 3 hours of leaving the city (including border crossing time) while Muscat will take you closer to 5 hours. Alternatively it is possible to fly to Muscat for as little as £140 and it’ll take you around an hour.

Lebanon

There are some destinations that I’d never really thought about before coming to Dubai and Beirut in Lebanon is one of those places. Flight times are just under 4 hours so might be a little tricky to fit in over a weekend but definitely something to bare in mind for anything longer. Lebanon is a country many would probably feel is unsafe because of it’s geographical location but I’ve seen several travel bloggers heading there lately and loving the city.

The Wandering Quinn | Adventurous Kate

Nepal

I don’t really know much about Nepal apart from it being home to Mount Everest but it’s another spot that is fairly cheap to visit and only 4 hours away on a flight to Kathmandu. I can only imagine the views from this city and the amazing temples you could visit. I’m probably not doing a great job of selling this to you but I’m sure the below blogs will.

Hand Luggage Only | That Backpacker

Flight time: 4 hours
Prices from £235 (when randomly searching dates)

Georgia

This is a destination that many friends in Dubai have visited and some more than once so there must be something to keep going back for. From what I’ve seen and heard it’s worth going for the views, architecture and food. The flight is under four hours so I’d say that’s a yes from me. Tbilisi is the main city and landing point for exploring this country. For more inspiration check out the links below.

A little Adrift | Heart my Backpack

Sri Lanka

We’ve already made the most of our close proximity to Sri Lanka once and it’s looking likely to be our first big destination of 2019 too. It is around 4 and a half hours on the plane but every moment is worth it to visit Sri Lanka. There is so much on offer in this country and the trains make it super easy to explore in just a week (or at least that’s what I’m hoping).

Flight time: 4 hours and 30 minutes
Prices from £200

The Seychelles and the Maldives are also around a four hour flight away but direct flights will cost you nearly £500. We managed to get 1 stop flights from Dubai to the Maldives via Sri Lanka for around £350 last year so it’s worth keeping an eye if you’re desperate to head to either of these locations.
