I know it was a while ago now that I posted my week of wedding posts but I wanted to share this extra one with you. When I was prepping for the wedding I decided not to share any posts so never had a chance to show off some of the cool things I bought. So today I’m doing just that.
I’ve always loved Not On The High Street but it became my go to website while planning the wedding. I was desperate to make as much of the day as possible unique to us with personalised items and I probably lost hours of my life to searching on that website for the perfect item to fit the idea I had in my head. I used it for a whole range of items for our wedding; jewellery, wedding gifts and decorations. Given how many hours I spent scrolling through to find the perfect items, I wanted to share with you what I bought. In hope that I might be able to save you just a little time.
All photos in this post are by the amazing Nikki Cooper who did the best job capturing our day.
Not On The High Street Products You Need for Your Wedding
Cake topper | Buy here
I’d spotted this gorgeous cake topper on Sophie Cliff’s blog right at the beginning of our engagement and was completely set on getting one. However, I must have gone back and forth with the colour decision a hundred times. I’m pleased I went with my gut instinct in the end instead of trying to match up everything with the colour scheme.
Top tip: Wait to order until you’ve got measurements for the cake, had I not of done this I would have ordered a topper way bigger than we needed.
Cuff Links | Buy here
JP wanted to get personalised cufflinks for the day and settled on this gorgeous pair which allowed you to add words of your choice. They looked really good with his suit and he even wears them to work now which makes for a great memento.
Top tip: Choose a pair with a clear font and large enough writing, some looked almost unreadable.
Wedding Favours | Buy here
We knew exactly what we wanted to get for wedding favours as JP has received a tankard a few years previous as a wedding favour. As we dug a little deeper I realised you could get all sorts of different glass types so set about getting them for all members of our wedding party. The text on each was all personalised and set out in a clear way. Even more, this company offered me a discount for ordering so many and when I realised a glass was broken about a month or so after I ordered it, in the middle of the Christmas chaos, they replaced it immediately.
Top tip: Contact the seller before hand if you are making a big order to see what discount they’ll offer and make sure you check all glass items when they arrive no matter how well they are packaged.
Bridesmaid Necklaces | Buy here
These are the one thing which literally took me hours to decided on. They had so many different options, colours and styles. It was a huge minefield. In the end I opted for a necklace that was personalised for each bridesmaid with their initial. I really liked this idea as it added a nice touch for the girls. I also decided to go away from the colour of their dresses and picked something that stood out a little more.
Top tip: check the measurement of the necklace with that of the dress neck line, had I not of done this I probably would have ordered something that was way too long.
Globe Guestbook | Buy here
Well technically I ordered this from Etsy because it was marginally cheaper but as she also has a shop on Not On The High Street I thought I’d include this one. Plus it is one of the most travel related items we had for our wedding. Again this was something I spent ages debating over the colour of. Did I stick with our colour scheme or go with the colours that I liked the most in her pictures? In the end the latter won out and I’m so pleased I made that decision.
Top tip: Shop around to check you are getting the best prices, some shops have listings on both Not On The High Street and Etsy and pricing differ a little.
