Honeymoon, Going Offline and Wedding Talk

I know what you’re thinking, didn’t you just post a new blog yesterday? Well you’d be right but I wanted to just give you a quick update on a few things that are going on around here. I know I don’t do these type of posts often and mostly save updates for my newsletter but as they’ll be a few changes to the blog I wanted to let you all know.

But first, do you like the new layout? I know it’s been up a few weeks but I wanted to see how it’s working for you as a reader. I’d love to hear about the things you like and dislike.

If you’re reading this on the day I publish it then I’ll have just landed in Dubai to meet JP and finish packing for our trip. Tomorrow we are flying to Sri Lanka where we will be spending roughly 18 hours in Colombo. Then heading off to the Maldives for an all inclusive holiday. As I mentioned in my newsletter at the weekend I’m so excited to be heading to such a paradise destination but I’m slightly nervous about being at an all inclusive resort. In all the years we’ve been travelling together we’ve never taken a holiday like it and I’m a little apprehensive.

I’m sure there will be nothing to worry about and once we arrive at our water bungalow we will settle right into island resort life but just incase I’ve filled my suitcase with things to keep us entertained.

Going Offline

While we are away I’m also anticipating having no wifi as our resort charges extra for the service and I have no intention of paying extra! Due to this I have decided not to schedule any blogs for the next 10 days. Not only that but I haven’t scheduled a single tweet or Instagram post either. I’d much rather be online when posts are scheduled so that I can engage with you guys and reply to comments. I also decided that I’d relax much more if I didn’t have any content going live while I’m offline. More than that though it is our honeymoon, a time we should be spending with each other not with our phones.

That being said, I will of course be taking all the photos so that I can share all the need to know information about a holiday in the Maldives and Colombo when I return.

Wedding Talk

Finally, I wanted to let you know about the content I will be sharing when I get back from our honeymoon. I’ve debated for a while now whether to share some blog posts about our wedding or not. After all, this is a travel blog and wedding doesn’t quite fit under that term. However, after lots of thinking I decided what the heck, it’s my blog and I’ll post what I like.

So the week I return there will be a whole week of wedding posts filled with amazing tips, travel themed ideas and all the awesome people who helped make our wedding amazing. I figured if I posted about it all in one week then if you’re not keen to read about it you only have to skip the blog for a week.

Let me know if there is something in particular you want to hear about from the wedding or honeymoon and I’ll try and include it.
