Happy Monday everyone! Welcome to the second edition of my monthly favourites feature. In this post I’m sharing my favourite things from August. If you’d like to know what I get up to each month and any gossip I have then you can sign up for my monthly newsletter here or in the side bar.
August Favourites
Boyfriend t.shirt dress from Primark
I picked up this dress from Primark just a few days before I went to Dubai at a mere £3.50 and I literally lived in it during my time in Dubai. It was perfect for covering my shoulders and knees but also kept me cool during the crazy temperatures. I’m keeping my eyes out for any more of these dresses in those last summer sales.
New backpack
I have wanted a Fjallraven Kanken backpack for a very long time, it was even featured in this post back in 2015. I finally bought one this month! I’d kept buying cheaper bags from Accessories but after my last one fell to pieces I decided it was time to invest. They aren’t a cheap investment but I love mine so much already. I got mine from Urban Outfitters and literally spent half an hour deciding what colour I wanted.
Iced coffee/tea
I’ve never really liked iced tea or coffee, well that was until I went to Dubai. In August it’s far too hot to be drinking warm drinks so I switched my tea and coffee for iced versions and my do they know how to make them in Dubai. I had the most amazing Moroccan iced mint tea at the Arabian Tea House and so many good iced coffees at the many cool cafes.
Spending time with JP
For anyone who doesn’t know JP and I are back to the long distance thing again. Although it doesn’t feel as hard as last time, probably because we are engaged now, it still isn’t easy. Getting to spend the majority of this month with him has been amazing. We’ve been able to do some super cool things in Dubai as well as enjoy some quiet evenings in together. I cannot wait until October so I can see him again.
Exploring a new city
Before leaving for Dubai I had been feeling like I was wasting my summer a little and hadn’t done enough travelling. Thankfully all those feelings disappeared the minute I landed in Dubai. Despite being summer I attempted to explore the city as much as possible and made sure I spent as much time in the old city as I did the new city. There are already two posts about Dubai on the blog and they’ll be more coming your way over the next month.
Wide brimmed hat
As I’ve just mentioned Dubai is crazy hot in August, like 45 degrees hot. Despite this, I really wanted to be able to explore some of the city. I found the hardest thing about the heat was the sun beating down on my head and neck while walking outside. I started off by wearing a cap but it just didn’t keep enough sun off of me. So I bought a wide brimmed hat, after search about five stores for the most Instagram worthy option. It was probably my best buy while in Dubai.
I know Instagram has been getting a bit of a bad rep lately but I have been lovely the platform this last month. I am currently obsessed with Instagram stories and have been working really hard on making my own feed look pretty. You can follow me here.
What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments below.
Loving your red theme this month! I’m really struggling with Instagram because I really don’t want to see 5 posts from the same blogger from 6 days ago all at once… yet it seems to keep happening. But it’s still my fave social so I’ll stick with it a bit longer!

Yeah I know what you mean about seeing 5 posts from the same user! I have to be honest I tend to view stories and then click on profiles from there. Glad you’re gonna stick with it a little longer.
