As I’ve mentioned a few times this year on the blog, my mission for 2017 is to see more of Great Britain. In a bid to work out all the places I still want to visit I thought I’d create a list. I have covered a fair amount of the UK already so part of this list will be things I’ve already seen and done. The other part of this list will be things that I still want to do and can hopefully achieve this year. This has resulted in the ultimate bucket list for any visit to my amazing home country.
The things I’ve already done and recommend you should too
-> A weekend break in London to visit all the top sights, eat, drink and get acquainted with Great Britain
-> Visit Stonehenge
-> Wander the streets of Bath, visit the Roman Baths, get afternoon tea and go to the spa
-> See the white cliffs of dover
-> Explore the Jurassic Coast, think Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door
-> Escape to the New Forest where ponies run wild and the only traffic you’ll find is a herd of cows in the road
-> Go glamping
-> Go on a road trip around Scotland
-> Visit the Isle of Skye
-> Take a tour of a whisky distillery in Scotland
-> Visit the Isle of Mull
-> Hike to Sandwood Bay
-> Take in the stunning views of the Lake District
-> Go back in time in Stratford-upon-Avon
-> Wander the streets of Edinburgh, soak up the night life, climb Arthurs seat and stay for the Fringe Festival
-> Go shopping in Brighton’s Lanes
-> Eat and drink at a traditional British pub preferably at one of those in the countryside with a log fire
-> Go to a football match
-> Have ‘posh’ afternoon tea in London
-> Drive through the mountains of Glen Coe
-> Take a beach holiday to Cornwall’s St Ives bay
-> Check out Lands End in Cornwall and have your photo take with the sign
-> Go to a music festival
-> Visit the beaches of the Gower Peninsular
-> Go snowboarding on Cairngorms Mountain
Things I still want to do and think you should too
-> Visit Oxford and take it the wonderful architecture
-> Weekend break in the Cotswolds
-> Visit the Shetland Islands
-> Hangout in Manchester, eat, drink and maybe even catch some live music
-> Hike Snowdonia
-> Learn about the Beatles in Liverpool and grab a cuppa at the Friends cafe
-> Fly to the Isle of Scilly
-> Explore the Outer Hebrides Islands
-> Visit the Italian town of Portmeirion in Wales
-> Visit Cambridge, go punting on the river and explore the university
-> Go to Notting Hill Carnival
-> Visit the Welsh capital of Cardiff and catch a rugby game
-> Explore the medieval city of York
-> Go to the Up Helly Aa festival
-> Learn about the history in Canterbury
-> Stay in a Canopy and Stars accommodation
-> Take a road trip around England
Great bucket list. I would love to see more of Great Britain too (especially Durdle door!), since I have only been to London and Edinburgh…which were both great in their own way.

Thanks Stephanie, I hope you get to see more of the UK soon! x
Hi Jodie,
That bucket list is amazing! A weekend getaway to London and New Forest is in my bucket list as well 🙂

Thanks Mikail, I hope you get to do those trips at some point. Both are totally different but so worth it!
There are so many things on your bucket list that are still on mine!! I’d love to hike Snowdonia, (finally) visit Liverpool, go up to the Lake District, visit Oban in Scotland, go to Bristol’s hot air balloon festival, go to the Jurassic Coast… and loads more!!
Definitely have a weekend in York and see more of North Yorkshire. It’s the best place in the world (I’m probably biased because I live there haha) x
