And just like that it’s all over, after building up to the last 11 days for months it’s games over.
As any long term reader of my blog will know my sole purpose for being in Glasgow was the commonwealth games. Since October I have been counting down to these games, these 11 days of sporting fun and the whole world watching; but now it’s over and I have no idea how to feel about that. I have no idea if I really enjoyed the games in the end because it caused me to work so much but I did have an amazing opportunity to see several different sports. I was one of those at the opening ceremony, days later I then headed back that direction for badminton. Followed by an evening at Hampden Park for the 100m finals and then finally on the last day of the games we braved the rain to watch some road cycling. The city has been chaos and hectic but alive and electric at the same time. I’ll be writing about all my thoughts later in the week but for now enjoy my photos from the sporting events I attended.
What a wonderful experience. Thanks for sharing your photos ~ they’re great.
Fab pics, which really capture the excitement! We watched quite a lot of the events on TV and it looked like the atmosphere was great. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts about it 🙂
