Before we went to the Maldives I’d known a handful of people who had been and their most said comment was ‘the water really is that blue’. I’d always presumed that good editing skills made the Maldives look bluer and more like paradise than it really is. Having now been there I can confirm the same statement ‘the water really is that blue’ and any photo doesn’t really do it justice.
If you follow me over on Instagram then you may have started to see some photos on my grid of the Maldives but I wanted to share some more photos here before I start diving into full written posts about our honeymoon in the Maldives. It is a place where words cannot do it justice. The blues really are that blue and the contrast between the colours is something you won’t be able to stop looking at. From sunrise to sunset the photo taking opportunities are limitless and I have the same shot taken multiple times across different days because it just looked so beautiful!
The Maldives is probably already on your travel radar and possible somewhere you are saving for a special trip but incase you’ve been living under a rock lately this post comes with a warning. You will be wanting to book a trip to the Maldives by the end of it.
I’ll shut up now and let the photos do the talking.
Photos That Will Make You Want to Visit the Maldives
Having your own steps into the water is the best thing ever.
The ocean feels like the world’s biggest and best infinity pool.
Sunrise is just as gorgeous as sunset.
Seeing sharks never failed to excite me (these were massive and taken while on a boat trip).
The fire hydrants created the perfect contrast with the colours.
The Maldives from above lived up to every expectation.
Just lying in the lagoon is hugely relaxing.
And then there’s the underwater world…
Yes there really is a 45 degree drop at the edge of the lagoon.
Finally, it won’t just be fish you’re swimming with but black tipped sharks.
