Happy Friday everyone! I thought I’d try and get a mid-week post out this week, I nearly made, end of week kinda counts right? Last weekend I panicked and suddenly realised that I hadn’t done this monthly feature that I’m trying to keep up with so I’ve been trying to find time all week. I feel like this month’s post is harder to write than the last two. I genuinely haven’t done much because of work and then being too tired at the weekend, having silly appointments or pounding the pavements running. Anyway, without further ado here are the things I’m loving right now.
We have finally hit my favourite season and I couldn’t be happier for falling leaves, the autumnal colour palette, the cooling weather and cosy nights in. Autumn always brings a spring to my step and I’m so excited for all of the knitted jumpers and boots. Admittedly I’m already missing the light mornings but you can’t have everything.
I’d seen the hype on Twitter and then my parents started raving about Dr Foster and I figured I probably needed to see what it was all about. I’m really not a huge TV person but this show has had me hooked since the start of this new series. Now I have to say that I haven’t actually watched season 1 but my has this series been filled with excitement like no other. Now that this season is finally over I might try and catch up with the events of the first one.
As soon as the weather started to cool just a touch I was straight back to having soup for my lunch. This month I have even started making my own soup. I’ve been enjoying the most amazing butternut squash with carrot and coconut milk. Also on my radar to make is sweet potato soup and tomato/basil. Making soup means that I know exactly what is in it (no gluten or dairy) and have far more choice than the normal supermarket ones.
I feel like I have to put this one here as I’ve been running so much this month in order to prepare for the half marathon I ran on Sunday. However, running has been a bit of a saving grace this month. Having started a new full time job (which comes with quite a few stresses) I wasn’t sure I’d feel like running but there is nothing that soothes the mind like a good run after a long day. It has also helped to keep me inspired even on those days where I’m exhausted and unable to clear my mind from work.
At the end of August I picked up a few buys in Primark for the autumn and I have been living in two of those items. The first, a long burgundy cardigan and the second a turtle neck knit top. I’ve been teaming the latter with jeans and the first with anything that works but mostly long skirts or dresses. I’m so excited for getting out all of my autumn fashion pieces out of the back of the wardrobe and picking up a few more bits in Primark…
